Privacy Policy for Laukviksymfonien

Effective date: 2026-08-30

This privacy policy describes how Laukviksymfonien ("the App"), published by Bergset EDB, handles your information.

1. Summary

The App has no user accounts and never asks for your name, email address, phone number or any other information that identifies you. Photos you take in the App stay on your device. The only things that leave your device are anonymous requests for weather data and for text content, and these carry nothing that identifies you.

2. Information You Provide or Create

Everything the App stores is created by you while using it:

  • App settings such as language, theme, playback volume and unit preferences
  • Photos you take with the in-app camera, including any graphics you add to them
  • The content of QR codes you choose to scan

The App has no registration form, no login and no contact fields.

3. Camera

The App uses your device's camera for two features, and only while you have one of them open:

  • Photo feature — take a picture and decorate it with seagull graphics supplied by the App.
  • QR code scanner — scan the Laukviksymfonien QR codes placed around Laukvik.

The camera image is processed entirely on your device. It is never uploaded, and no image is sent to Bergset EDB or to anyone else. QR codes are decoded on your device; the camera frames are discarded immediately and the decoded content is not sent anywhere. The App never uses the camera in the background.

4. Photos and Device Storage

When you choose to save a photo, it is written to your device's own photo gallery, or passed to your device's share menu so that you decide what happens to it. Bergset EDB never receives a copy.

On Android 9 and older, the App requests the storage permission solely in order to write a photo you have chosen to save. It never reads your gallery, your files or any other content on your device. On Android 10 and newer no storage permission is needed.

5. Location

The App does not request or use your device's location. The weather shown in the App is always the weather for Laukvik, retrieved for that one fixed place; your own position is never determined, used or transmitted.

6. Internet Requests

The App connects to Bergset EDB's own server at laukviksymfonien.api.bedb.no for two purposes:

  • to fetch the current weather and the forecast for Laukvik;
  • to fetch a piece of text content after you have scanned a QR code. The only thing sent with this request is the language you have selected in the App (Norwegian Nynorsk, Norwegian Bokmål or English). The content of the QR code itself is not transmitted.

These requests contain no account, no user identifier and no device identifier, and the service does not record the IP addresses of requests from the App in its application logs. Nothing is stored that could be linked back to you, and no profile of you is built.

The weather data originates from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway). That request is made by our server for the fixed Laukvik location, so no information about you or your device reaches MET Norway.

No advertising, analytics, tracking or crash-reporting service is contacted by the App.

7. Notifications and Background Playback

If you let the App keep playing sound while it is in the background, it asks your device for permission to show a playback notification, so that you can pause or resume the sound from your lock screen or notification shade. That notification is created on your device and contains only playback controls. The App sends no push notifications and has no way of contacting you.

8. Data Stored on Your Device

Your settings are stored in a small database on your device. The App also remembers basic state such as the screen you were last on, your last volume level and the most recently fetched weather data, in the App's local storage. All of this stays on your device and is never transmitted.

9. Third-Party Sharing

The App shares no data with third parties. It contains no analytics services, no advertising frameworks, no crash-reporting tools and no other third-party tracking SDKs. No data about you is sold, rented or transferred to anyone.

The App is distributed through Google Play. Google's own policies apply to the download and installation itself; that process is controlled by Google and not by Bergset EDB.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

Settings and stored state remain on your device for as long as the App is installed. You can remove them by clearing the App's data in your device settings, or by uninstalling the App. Photos you have saved to your gallery belong to you and stay there until you delete them — uninstalling the App does not remove them.

11. Security

All communication with the Bergset EDB server uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Data stored on your device is protected by your device's own security measures (screen lock, encryption and similar). The App does not add encryption beyond what the operating system provides.

12. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the App and you have concerns, please contact us at the address below.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be shown on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
